picture-21picture-3picture-42I’ve come across a few of ISO50’s work already, but when stumbling onto his blog, then his portfolio site, my jaw dropped. Not only is Scott Hansen’s (ISO50) portfolio site gorgeous, but his vintage work and use of saturated color had me captivated all last night as I looked through his print works, photography, web, clothing; the list goes on. You can also purchase his prints and posters and even some apparel on his site here. And don’t forget about his blog! Scott, you’re a busy, busy man, but it sure is paying off. View his portfolio and other amazing work here.

Have you ever been to a thrift store and found that one item that is so unique and awesome that you are not sure how it ended up there? Absolute Sellout is an online shop that sells only those finds. The store does all the work for you and acts like kind of a thrifting ‘best of’ collection. Good stuff.

Adobe BrowserLabAdobe BrowserLab

Mind=Blown

A co-worker sent this around the office yesterday and it sort of blew me away. Adobe BrowserLab is a free online program that allows designers to compare how different browsers display a website easily and instantly.

Using your Adobe login (a free account), you simply enter the URL of the site, and what browsers you want previews of. Within a few seconds you get screenshots of all the major browsers across Mac & PC. The software offers 1-up, 2-up and Onion views. The Onion View overlays the screenshots to easily spot variances from browser to browser.

Other services like this exist, but few are this easy to use and/or free, and none are made by Adobe. Go check it out at browserlab.adobe.com and you’ll soon be able to quit testing IE6 on that awful PC.

Go Outside

Joe Duffy has a piece on Fast Company titled ‘A Plea to All Creatives: Stop Going to Work.

Please, go read it.

What makes you happy? When do you feel most inspired? What is it that generates new ideas and fruitful energy in your life? Find those things. Nurture them. Respect them. Being someplace, like in the office, for appearances sake is futile.

Balance = happy = creative = productive. Repeat.

Yesterday in my studio’s Monday staff meeting, someone brought up the title sequence for the HBO series ‘Bored to Death,’ starring Jason Schwartzman and Zach Galifianakis. The series is about a writer (Schwartzman) who moonlights as a private detective. It’s a beautiful use of illustration and moving typography. Watch it above.
