Pretty LoadedPretty LoadedPretty Loaded

Pretty Loaded is a flash preloader museum curated by Big Spaceship. In their words:

Pretty Loaded is an archive of preloaders that preload other preloaders… which in turn reveal yet more preloaders. Copy that? It’s a tribute to a vanishing art form amid a constantly changing landscape.

The site is quite interesting, with preloaders that date back as far as 2002. Some of them really show their age. Others are quite beautiful and it’s almost a shame this practice is dying… well, maybe that’s a stretch.

Visit www.prettyloaded.com to see the digital goodness, submit a preloader, or download a screensaver.

Thanks to Erica Klink for emailing this to us :)

Hungry yet? That’s the idea behind FoodPornDaily. Atleast once a day, they post the most delicious food pics they can find (sometimes with recipes, sometimes without). Flipping thru has made me realize how I need food right this instant.

Go and salivate at FoodPornDaily.

WAKE by Phil Jones (aka murraymullet) is making some waves around the Threadlessosphere and the interwebz. (Waves… do you see what I did there?)

If you want this awesome shirt for this summer when You’re On A Boat, or to cover your torso when you’re nude, you have to go vote for it at threadless.com.

The Big Caption, a compliment to The Big Picture, makes statements and jokes through typography. A lot of recent posts have to do with results of the oil spill in the Gulf, but there’s still some to make you chuckle as well. Take a look for yourself here.

(via design crush – kelly, you post such greatness!)

nicholasMatt Stevens Shoes

Designer Matt Stevens recently emailed us his Nike Air Max 1-a–Day project. The most recent ones look at some his favorite and most inspiring designers, illustrators and thinkers. Great stuff, and the style is spot-on for each of the people.

Thanks Matt !

Wired Magazine has released their iPad app, which was a collaboration between Adobe and Wired. The app looks like a keeper. Watch the video above to see a great example of how magazines should behave in the digital world. Hopefully soon all publications will embrace these new technologies and give us content in this fresh, exciting way.

Downsides? Each issue will begin at $4.99/issue, and the inaugural issue is 500+mb in filesize. That’s a healthy chunk of the 16GB in the smallest iPad. For the print issue, you can get 12 issues (one year) of Wired for just $10. If you buy all 12 issues of the iPad version, it’s $60.

Download the Wired app in the App Store. You can see the editors’ letter introducing the app here.

(Apologies for the tiny video, Wired’s embed cannot be enlarged)

Music City Rising posterMusic City Rising iPhone cases

When the flood in Nashville hit, local companies Griffin Technology and Hatch Show Print took action.

Music City Rising” is a limited edition poster and case for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, is borne of a partnership between two local companies: Griffin Technology and Hatch Show Print. Each “Music City Rising” piece is original artwork, locally designed and printed by Griffin Technology and Hatch Show Print. 100% of the proceeds goes straight to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s flood relief fund.

Each poster is individually signed and numbered; each case is hand painted and unique. Griffin and Hatch have covered the cost in advance, ensuring that 100% of the price of purchase goes straight to flood relief. Quantity is limited to 250 each, so if you want one, you’ll need to hurry. (Flood relief can’t wait.)

Limited Edition: Hand-made poster and case are limited to 250 pieces each. All proceeds benefit the CFMT Flood Relief Fund.

Support the cause by buying a poster or case here.

They also took a great set of process photography, and threw them up on flickr. Check out the awesome process photos here.

Lake Erie Wind Farm

Here is some good news. The US is going to see its first freshwater wind farm right here in Ohio on Lake Erie. Governor Ted Strickland had this to say,

“Ohio’s greatest potential for creating wind energy is offshore in Lake Erie, and this partnership marks a significant step forward. In Ohio we have all the right assets to make offshore wind energy successful, including an innovative workforce and the manufacturing strengths that would allow us to build all the component parts for wind turbines.”

I’ve been seeing little pieces of Darling Clementine pop up all over in my gReader for awhile now, decided it was time to share. I love their little illustrations. Make sure you check out their whole site, there is so much more to see!

Nike have created a 3 minute commercial that people on the internet are describing as epic. It makes me want to start watching soccer. Created by Wieden+Kennedy.

The time has come for players to carve their name in history. One touch, tackle or free kick could crush a nation’s hopes or cause them to build a statue in your honour. Drogba, Rooney and Ronaldo are ready to Write The Future
