These just speak for themselves…a selection of 25 photos that compare past snapshots of buildings, locations, structures, and people with the present day scene. There are hundreds of photos just like this in the Looking Into the Past Flickr group by Jason Powell.

Daily coffee drinker? Throw-away cups are already wasteful, but these super cute coffee sleeves from The Doe and the Mouse will save a little trash and dress up your cup. I would probably never remember to keep this in my purse, but then again, they are adorable…

Struggle Inc. is the chicago-based commercial art house of Cody Hudson. He describes his aesthetic as “part urban modernism and part organic visual deconstruction” and I think he hits the nail on the head. Be sure to check out his personal work too, it’s equally colorful and fascinating.

Update: Found a studio tour/interview with Cody here.

These one-of-a-kind Nomad Flyers (yes, that’s how they spelled it) by artists Alain and Odille Pecheux are made of found/vintage fabric with papier mache and driftwood. If they weren’t so expensive, I’d love one of these adorable little guys on my windowsill. Available from Anthropologie.

Ever have a great tote or t-shirt that just needs a little extra…something? Look no further. I just found this book of tear-and-use iron-ons featuring animals, lettering, and goofy characters from UK design collab Sukie. Cute and cheerful. And cheap too!

W Magazine’s Design Director, Edward Leida, gives us a peek into the daringly minimalist and abstract art direction of the magazine. Really nice video, innovative processes. Enjoy.

Ever wish your iphone dialing experience could be filled with fluffy clouds, baby kittens, meowing, and rainbows, and hearts? Your dreams can come true with Kitty Caller, my new favorite app (yes, I bought it, it’s worth it for entertainment value alone! only 99 cents!) There are three feline friends to choose from—with names like “Ms. Mittens” and “Chairman Meow”–each with their own dialing animation. I’m DYING. This is amazing.

*That dialing seizure pictured above (with all the 1’s) was my attempt to capture the shooting rainbows. After many tries, I got it!

Featuring the letterheads of some of the world’s biggest names and companies from now and (mostly) then. See them all at Letterheady, and be on the lookout for Hitler’s letterhead!

While researching lettering artists at work today, I came across the work of Greg Morgan. Um, wow. I sifted through the 60+ images he has featured on his artist rep’s site, and was basically barfing all over myself in excitement. From finished client work to his cut-and-paste ephemera sketches, it’s all just really fun to look at. Lots of old and wood type bits, stamps and stickers, textures and torn edges. Enjoy. Now I’m going to go feel bad about myself.
