Olympic campaigns always tend to get the spotlight when it comes to the design unavailing. The campaigns are thought out and expanded across a variety of media. Some of the most notable designs that come to mind are the ’68 Mexico Olympics, ’72 Munich Olympics and most recently the ’08 Beijing Olympics . In this case the Canadian National Olympic Team had a design unavailing.

The new look for the Canadian team is really fresh and youthful. In the video below the designers go into detail about the symbolic nature of the maple leaf and how that is at the center of the design. One of the main typefaces used is Stratum by Process Type Foundry. Ben Hulse headed up the project. He was also involved in the Vancouver Olympics Identity.
