turqPantone just released their Color of the Year for 2010 and it’s Turquoise. Yes, Turquoise. Now, I have to say I have no idea what Color of the Year means. On the website it describes the use of Turquoise in fashion, jewelry and the feelings you have when you see the color, so I’m assuming it’s what I believed it was meant for: trend setting. But am I the only one to think, TURQUOISE? I honestly was hoping for a unique green, subtle red, vivid yellow, something that I haven’t seen thousands and thousands of times in my 24 years here on earth. I was looking forward to a new 2010, not something from when I was in high school. It just seems this color is neither trendy anymore nor does it evoke emotion of excitement for 2010. I consider myself a color person, but maybe I’m wrong. Is it just me or is Turquoise so 2005?
