Above are just a few examples of the many ways you can create your own bike at the Urban Outfitters Bike Shop. You can choose from 3 frame sizes and customize everything from the grips right down to the chain. With a 7 day wait time for your bike to be built, you’ll be riding in no time.
Thanks to Erika for the tip!

As the resident bike snob – I have to interject that there are better buys for your money out there. At over 24lbs, these bikes are tanks. My road bike is lighter. Also the steel isn’t the best quality.
For only $400 you can’t be incredibly picky, that’s dirt cheap for a bike, but they could be a little better quality.
However, visually, they’re fun to look at and the entire online building process is very cool.

Fixed gears are no longer cool. Urban Outfitters’ own bike store is the nail in the coffin. Thanks Urban Outfitters for killing fixed gear bikes and three wolf moon t-shirt.

My comment was intended for Rick, but somehow your comment snaked it’s way in front of mine…

I see how it is…

It’s a cool concept – no doubt.
Just wish they chose a different bike brand. I’d lose my bike-snob-license if I didn’t say otherwise.

whatever, this is so irritating. obviously I work(ed) at urban and was aware that we had this feature online, and yeah, if I wanted to build a bike that looked like this, then what better way to do it!
a bike is a bike, and everyone should be able to ride what they want. I don’t know when bikes became tamagotchis—some cool one minute and not the next. I hear it constantly from people all around me. my cruiser has only one speed and doesn’t even have hand brakes, so I must be a giant loser? lolzordssss
the great thing about having a nice looking bike is that when you ride it in the valley on the weekends (and all the gross old men in spandex are down there) and they look at you and go “niiiice,” you know they’re talking about your bike and not you for a change!
thanks krystle for the debate floor! haha

Rach – I’m pretty sure cruiser bikes with coaster brakes are ‘in’ right now. I’ll check with the hipsters to verify.

After looking at these again – I want a white bike so freaking bad!

man, i didnt think this would be so controversial. i just thought it was a cool concept with a quick turnaround time that produces decent-ly attractive and unique-ish bikes.

I hate anyone who buys a bike from these douchebags. God you people are such friggin wannabe dorks.
