Danny MacAskill: Industrial Revolutions
Danny MacAskill is up to it again. His riding is truly a form of art.
Industrial Revolutions is the amazing new film from street trials riding star Danny Macaskill. Filmed and edited for Channel 4 ‘s documentary Concrete Circus.
Industrial Revolutions sees Danny take his incredible bike skills into an industrial train yard and some derelict buildings.’ Filmed in the beautiful Scottish countryside Danny Macaskill’s latest film was directed by Stu Thomson (Cut Media/MTBcut) for Channel 4′s documentary Concrete Circus.
Cliff notes: he rides his bike across a rope.
Sick. Dude’s fearless.
The What if… show
If you’re in Chicagoland this Saturday (Aug 20) then you should make it out to The What if… Show — a night of awesome art and sick beats:
The What if show is an art exhibit curated by Joe Van Wetering and Paul Octavious. We asked artists and designers from all over the world to explore some ideas surrounding alternate universes and some generally out there themes. The parallel universes of more than 50 artists will collide in Chicago on August 20. From alternate moments in history, to slight changes in popular culture, this show will cover a variety of subjects. So for one night only, step into an alternate reality, listen to Major Taylor play some tunes, and have a drink on us!
The show has a killer lineup of artist/designers. I hope you’ll come out and show your support.
Evolution of the Hipster
What smells like a penniless hobo but is so rich he could buy all the hobos?
Black and White Clock by Vadim Kibardin

Vadim Kibardin’s (Kibardindesign) Black and White clock strips exemplifies minimalism:
“Digital clock: only figures, no case, only the necessary— only accurate time. Each figure has self-contained power supply and independent control, it can be fixed to any surface autonomously. A light sensor will switch the clock to an invert mode: the figures are white in the dark time of day and black at daytime.”
So cool. Vadim is still searching for a manufacturer, but if this hits production I would love to scoop one up.

Lettering by Max Estes

Just sharing some really nice lettering from Max Estes, and American illustrator now based out of Oslo, Norway. The last piece reminds me a lot of Ward Schumaker‘s lettering. Agree?
MOVE
I’ll just let them do the talking:
3 guys, 44 days, 11 countries, 18 flights, 38 thousand miles, an exploding volcano, 2 cameras and almost a terabyte of footage… all to turn 3 ambitious linear concepts based on movement, learning and food ….into 3 beautiful and hopefully compelling short films…= a trip of a lifetime.
Beautiful.
NYC trash for sale
Yes, at $50 a pop. I’m not kidding.
Artist Justin Gignac first started selling the NYC Garbage cubes to prove the influence of package design. Even in the past nine years, he’s sold over 1,300. As an added bonus, you can upload a photo of your purchased cube to be added to the site and see where else cubes reside in the world.
I have to admit, capturing these “moments” charms my inner-hoarder and Container Store love all in one. Why didn’t I think of this first?!
