Big Beautiful Alphabet

Just saw these went on sale online…UO Alphabet bags. $19.99 on sale, still a little steep but if you really want one you can become my friend, and I’ll hook it up. Must say, I always liked my initial, and set in a big, lovely Poster Bodoni-esque type I couldn’t love it more.

New York City: 1961 vs. 2009

34th_old-new

Wicked cool photo series of 1961 NYC images retaken from the same vantage point. It’s crazy how much has changed, and how much hasn’t. View the blog post here, and accompanying gallery here.

Now don’t forget about this little gem. I haven’t watched it in awhile, but it’s just as funny as the first time!

Make the logo bigger, make the logo big

Speaking of making the logo bigger, I’m still running across friends who haven’t heard this song called Make The Logo Bigger. Popping up a while ago on Speak Up, this song by Burn Back is the rock anthem for the new millennium designer. If you’ve heard it before, it’s always worth another listen.

If you have trouble playing it above, just download it here (MP3).

Tame Impala

I know I posted this Tame Impala video on my own blog today but this is worth sharing. Love how all the paint and drawings and shapes all transition into each other…just some fun, artful psychedelia for your sunny Friday.

The New SEGD

segd4

The Society of Environmental Graphic Design recently released a brand new look. Michael Gericke and the folks at Pentagram designed an all new identity and website which has been creating a lot of discussion on SEGD talk. Personally, I’m excited to see the new site is more user friendly. Read more about the redesign here.
