Lonny Love

A little over a full year since it’s creation, Lonny magazine continues to produce quality editorial content while still creating the allure of a print publication.

The bimonthly online beauty of former Domino editor Michelle Adams and photographer Patrick Cline, focuses on lifestyle and home décor. While Domino might not have lived to see it’s fullest potential (moment of silence, please), Lonny gives light to a Domino-like presence through its free online edition.

Now with a solid eight issues under its belt, Lonny lives on with the December/January issue.

Take a peek. It’s quite a blend of vibrant photography, insightful editorial content and design interaction. It’s a breath of fresh air for some magazines making the inevitable switch from print to digital.

Love the details involving color and design. Who hasn’t walked into a well-crafted store and wondered what specific colors were used? Adore.

Music Monday: Blackbird Blackbird – Pure

This track is called Pure and is by Blackbird Blackbird and hopefully it will start your week off on the right note. I highly suggest checking some more of their music out if you enjoy this.
Sorry if you get a seizure.

Jayson Home Ornaments

For someone who gets and gives a lot of ornaments each year, I’m always on the lookout for them. Love these ones from Jayson Home & Garden. You can order online, or pick them up at their Chicago location.

Spy on Sagmeister Inc.

Sagmeister Inc

Sagmeister Inc. just launched their new website and I don’t know what to say other than, they did it again. Featuring a live stream of their studio space with vinyl graphics on the floor which work as the navigation, it allows anyone to lurk on Stefan and his crew anytime.

Danny MacAskill: Way Back Home

Last year Danny MacAskill was better at riding bikes than you. Well guess what? He’s still better than you. Danny and Red Bull teamed up to put together Way Back Home. The film follows Danny on a journey from Edinburgh back to his hometown of Dunvegan on the Isle of Skye. Another video showing his ridiculous skill, creativity & ballsiness.

This video received almost 4 million views in the first month online, but I hadn’t seen it, so I’m hoping you haven’t yet. They also did a short interview with the rider talking about this video and his life since the first video.

Check out the interview

Camilla Engman: Gift Tags

CAMILLA ENGMAN
Camilla Engman

I found these in my Google Reader shared inbox this morning from my girlfriend. Camilla Engman created these wonderful, and free, gift tags that you can download and print out yourself. Kind of relieved that I don’t have to use the lame ones from Walgreens anymore.

Check out the rest of her work too. She has a great, whimsical style in her illustrations and posts on her blog about her adventures.

Head on over to Camilla Engman’s Gift Tags or download the PDF directly.

2011 Studio on Fire Letterpress Calendar

Last year we posted about Studio on Fire’s gorgeous 2010 calendar, and for 2011 they made another great piece. The 2011 Studio on Fire Letterpress Calendar is a series of 12 letterpressed cards, each created by different designers: Adam Garcia, Brian Gunderson, Jessica Hische, We Make It So, Aesthetic Apparatus, and of course Studio On Fire.

This calendar is letterpress printed with four inks: tonal varnish, silver, copper and black. Each month is beautifully illustrated by selected designers. A sturdy paper easel stand makes it perfect for your desktop.

They’re $30 each, and you can purchase one here.

We’re back, and beta than eva’

What better way to start off the new site than with a horrific pun? So, if you’re reading this in an RSS reader, click on the post — we have a new site design.

The site itself is still in beta, meaning it’s live but still being tested, bugs fixed, etc. There will be some image thumbnails missing until we finish making them all. BUT, we’re excited for the new digs. Overall the site should feel easier to get around, making it easier to run into interesting content that doesn’t happen to be on the front page, and we hope its easier on the eyes.

We’re adding a desktop/mobile wallpapers section, and have six wallpapers to start out with. They’ll fit your giant display and your iPhone/iPad. Once the site is completely finished we will be inviting guest artists to submit wallpapers. There will be illustration, typography and photography which should make for a diverse collection.

Full length articles are coming in the next week or so, then a store is right after that!

Poke around, download a wallpaper, see our snazzy new about page and our contributors shining faces. If you spot any weirdness, email us, leave a comment here, or hit us up on twitter.
