Last Friday I received an email from your friend and mine Cee Lo Green (of Goodie Mob & Gnalrles Barkley Fame) simply titled “F You”. He shared the video for his new song F**k You from his upcoming album “Lady Killer.”
Within a matter of seconds the video was everywhere from Facebook to Twitter. It was even posted on my grandmothers blog and if you search for it on Youtube you’ll come across an astonishing amount of covers, remixes and sing-alongs.
Honestly I’m just glad to see the masses gaining such respect for good motion graphics and typography (set in Knockout by H&FJ). The times they are a-changing.

8 Bit Memory is an Etsy shop selling external hard drives mounted inside old Nintendo and Super Nintendo game cartridges. The drives range from 500GB to 1TB and run off the power of the USB (so no power cord needed).
Head over to their Etsy shop and pick one up.

I stumbled across this yesterday and wished my friends and I had this chart in high school. It may have prevented a number of social headaches.
…there are, as I reckon, about three levels of relations that should be considered when deciding who you can date: “personal,” “professional,” and “other.” Of course a lot of that “other” is going to be concerned with instances, like, say you’re at a kegger and you meet a Japanese foreign exchange student and you’re both really drunk.
Check out the full sized chart and the hilarious article at The Morning News.

I’m such a sucker for cute patterns and simple illustrations. Luckily for my bank account, Minimega currently only ships to countries in Europe. Otherwise my nieces and nephews would give me plenty of excuse to stock up on items from their shop!
More about this adorable Danish design studio here, items in the shop, and find inspiration on their blog.

I found these cards from Up Up Creative awhile back, and find I still love the sweet simplicity of them. These little cards remind you to enjoy the little things in life, like “run like a kid: with no goal and no self-consciousness” or “write a quick note to a friend. a real note, not an email. put it in the mail immediately so you won’t forget.”
To have a reminder of the little joys in life, purchase your own here. You can also request a custom set of good ideas for a personal touch.

Want a chance for people all over the country to see your work? Why not sign up for the 2011 Sketchbook Project?
A sketchbook is a place to put your heart and soul. Let it out into the wild; we’ll keep you connected. We know how precious a sketchbook is. You carry it with you everywhere, spending months working on it. It becomes a part of you. When you’re finished, share your hard work with the world. We’ll make sure you stay connected with your sketchbook as it tours the country and after we catalog it in The Brooklyn Art Library.
I don’t even know where to begin on how spectacular this project sounds (why did I not know about it before?!). 2011 will be the fifth time that Art House Co-op tackles the project and they’ve made sure to add a lot of new features (you can even track your book to see when and where it is being viewed!). As a participating artist, you will get your very own Moleskin Cahier sketchbook and a theme to use as a starting point to create your book. The books will then be put into a traveling exhibition around the country and later placed in a permanent collection at the Brooklyn Art Library.
Make sure to check out all the details on the Sketchbook Project’s site. You have until October 31, 2010 to sign up, and your finished book must be postmarked by January 15, 2011 to be included in the tour.
Thanks to my ever-curious and wonderful friend, Kara Solinsky for the heads up on this!

This meets both my nostalgic urge to own and use a typewriter while quenching my techno-lust all at the same time. Although a little pricey, $400-500, I could see myself justfying this purchase for the sake of “productivity.” Or, you know, just having more cool toys. There are also much cheaper kits available to turn your own typewriter into an iPad accessory. The cable is a little unsightly though, how about a bluetooth option folks?

Designer Matt Stevens recently emailed us his Nike Air Max 1-a–Day project. The most recent ones look at some his favorite and most inspiring designers, illustrators and thinkers. Great stuff, and the style is spot-on for each of the people.
Thanks Matt !
