This past weekend I have the delightful experience of going to Orange Beautiful’s new studio/shop in Chicago (located on Damen Ave, right off the Brown line). I’ve been following Emily (the wonder mind behind Orange Beautiful) via The Scoop for several months now, and couldn’t wait to see her shop with my own eyes. I felt like a kid in a candy store…except with paper goods! Emily creates simple, yet beautiful little pieces…that have a little quirkiness to them that I adore. She letterpresses by hand in the studio and has some wonderful bound journals/photo albums. She has a selection of other designer/artist’s pieces to please the eye as well. It was a struggle to decide what to purchase!

If you’re in the Chicago area, I highly recommend checking out the shop. And if you’re not in the area, don’t worry! Orange Beautiful sells online too!

Thanks again to Emily for letting me poke around through your shop and studio, and for the sneak peak at limited prints! Also to fellow TDP-er Ricky, for trucking through the ridiculous heat so I could visit the shop :)

I love cards…I usually just try to avoid them, just to protect my bank account. Etsy  (unintentionally) smacked me in the face with these lovelies from a. favorite design today. I don’t know how to pick what I like most! Letterpress, a little snark, designer love, and a whole love of fun are putting these on my list for future purchases. How great is the dad card for a one who likes fun? (Father’s Day is coming up June 20!)

Look through all of a. favorite’s (designer Amber Favorite) work on her site, and purchase your very own here.

Music City Rising posterMusic City Rising iPhone cases

When the flood in Nashville hit, local companies Griffin Technology and Hatch Show Print took action.

Music City Rising” is a limited edition poster and case for iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS, is borne of a partnership between two local companies: Griffin Technology and Hatch Show Print. Each “Music City Rising” piece is original artwork, locally designed and printed by Griffin Technology and Hatch Show Print. 100% of the proceeds goes straight to the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee’s flood relief fund.

Each poster is individually signed and numbered; each case is hand painted and unique. Griffin and Hatch have covered the cost in advance, ensuring that 100% of the price of purchase goes straight to flood relief. Quantity is limited to 250 each, so if you want one, you’ll need to hurry. (Flood relief can’t wait.)

Limited Edition: Hand-made poster and case are limited to 250 pieces each. All proceeds benefit the CFMT Flood Relief Fund.

Support the cause by buying a poster or case here.

They also took a great set of process photography, and threw them up on flickr. Check out the awesome process photos here.

I had the fortune of coming across a booth at the Detroit Urban Arts & Crafts Fair (months and months ago) with these lovely/funny/awesome postcards from Rar Rar Press. I instantly purchased a few, and asked Rebecca Ann Rakstad for a card, knowing I’d be back for more. They have been used as gifts for friends, and treasured for my own (the ones I can’t bear to part with!). Finally decided I should share with all of you :) Hope you enjoy Rar Rar Press as much as I do!

Sigh. Isn’t it lovely? I stumbled upon MaeMae a few months back, and fell instantly in love. I have a thing for custom invitations, stationary, cards…hell, paper goods in general. MaeMae has delightfully clean, crisp and simple designs, which usually means I’ll obsessively lust over the materials for far longer than needed.

MaeMae Paperie is from the imagination of Megan Knight Gonzalez. The name comes from the Chinese word for “little sister,” and so her nickname growing up. She says that by giving her company that name, it reminds her of the support and encouragement of family and to give back to others. I suggest you check out the darling figure illustrations that accompany her website, along with inspiration and work on her blog. Enjoy!

I’m totally in love with Alberto Cerriteño’s work. His combination of texture, color, and the whimsical nature really just brighten my day.

Cerriteño created a stylized version of his “The Enamored Whale” for a limited edition letterpress print (its luscious!). He describes the original piece as the one that really started his career, and still the most popular (and one I’m completely enamored with myself). Olivine Studio really did a fantastic job with the printing. Sadly, there are none left to purchase.

Make sure to check out these macro photos too (great job, Danny!).

Check out Cerriteño’s etsy shop to purchase, and blog to keep up with everything Alberto Cerriteño. See the limited edition print and more work after the jump.

Repeat Press of Somerville, MA created some custom coasters for the guys at Highsnobiety and Selectism to hand out for the holidays. Check out his intricate process from beginning to end.

Great soundtrack too. F’ing love letterpress.
