I highly recommend reading this article from Newsweek about the Most Controversial Retouching Scandals of the Decade. The Madonna picture was definitely the most shocking to me, but to see all the pictures next to each other really blows me away more than I expected. I know retouching happens, but to see that the actual celebrities photographed say they’re ridiculous was the most shocking. I assumed they would know about it or would be the ones demanding it! Read the full article about the celebrity’s reactions and the controversy here.

It’s a common known fact that Nicolas Cage is the greatest actor of this generation, or any other. It’s just a shame he can only play in X-number of movies at a time, instead of every character of every movie ever made. Enter Nic Cage As Everyone – a blog dedicated to photoshopping Nic Cage’s face onto pretty much any significant character or person in history.

Founded on the belief that everything in life would be better with a little more Nic Cage, the most unique and versatile actor of his generation.

When I stumbled across this site, I literally looked at every single Nic Cage photoshop. Maybe I need a life. While the quality of photoshop isn’t always great, it’s still usually always funny.

See them all at: niccageaseveryone.blogspot.com.

Special thanks to ‘the internet’ for making ridiculous sites like this possible.

Adrien Donot, a graphic designer from Paris, shows us in this video that we shouldn’t judge ourselves based on models – because it’s easy to turn an already pretty person into ‘perfection’ with Photoshop.

(As a sidenote, I’m not quite sure why he flattens his layers so much…?..)

Photoshop Mobile for iPhone

Yesterday, Adobe released Photoshop.com Mobile for the iPhone. It’s essentially a very stripped down version of Adobe’s long-running popular photo-editing software and more recently online free photo-editing software available at photoshop.com. They have managed to bring basic photo editing features to a mobile device in an easy-to-use, lightweight application. The best part? It’s completely free.

The abilities of the software include: Crop, Rotate, Flip, Exposure, Saturation, Tint, Black & White, Sketch, Soft Focus and a number of filter/effects. I’ve chosen a lovely photo to demonstrate some of the interface. Grab your nearest low quality David Hasselhoff shirtless photo and take a look at what this mobile app can do.

The crop tool works just as you expect it to. Your finger moves the box around, and adjusts the corners for the right crop. The crop tool even auto-locks to the side of the photo if you get close enough to make sure you are on the edge. The rotate and flip tool are also intuitive and straight-forward. A flick of the finger and tap the checkbox.
